Just do it … anyway!
Very often we are held back from taking action in our lives by our fears, our false expectations or by what ‘may’ happen if we launch out and do something new, different, risky, uncharacteristic and potentially life-changing.
My encouragement to you today: do it anyway!
What have you always wanted to do but have shrunk away from doing so as to live ‘safely’, fearing what people may think or say about you or do to you should you take the plunge into different life ventures? Who are you living to impress and please? Why are you doing this if it is killing the very ‘you’ that was born to grow, develop and be shown to the world?
It’s time to “grow up and grow out”!
Listen to Mother Teresa’s thoughts on trying to live up to everyone else’s expectations:
“People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It never was between you and them anyway.”
It is time to let go of public opinion and to express ‘you’ anyway!
It’s time to become YOU-IER!
